If you ever want to see a kaleidoscope of colors from the natural landscape of Kentucky, fall is the perfect season to witness such a transformation. Many travelers make there way into the Daniel Boone National Forest to experience the mountains and terrain by foot and by vehicle. It’s amazing to see the expression on someone’s face as they take in the scenery and attractions in our area. It reminds me too of how often we take for granted all of the wonderful areas in our own backyard.

On a recent trip to map attractions around Natural Bridge State Park, I ran into a family from Ohio who was visiting the park for the first time. They were so amazed and excited about this newly discovered destination. In conversation, they said that they had never been to Kentucky before and did not realize Kentucky had such beautiful attractions. I could not pass up the opportunity to mention the Kentucky Artisan Heritage Trails and even made some recommendations of places to visit. I think they were a little bit taken aback by the wealth of information I was giving them, but they said that it was refreshing to meet a friendly stranger who would go out of their way to provide insight into the area. I believe that this family left Kentucky with a positive experience that will lead into many more visits.

Think about each new visitor to your business. Do you take the time to be friendly and educate them on your business or craft? Do you think that they leave your place with a positive experience? Make a conscious effort to instill a positive experience on all of those who pass through your door. Its effects will come back to you tenfold! Have a wonderful fall season!
